CCDC Company

Our award winning company is made up of a group of dedicated dancers wanting to dance at a competitive and professional level. We have two separate companies: one for dancers interested in focusing solely on hip hop and one for dancers interested in more "technical" dance forms (contemporary and jazz).  Dancers can and are encouraged to participate in both. These dancers participate in performances, competitions, dance conventions, and are given opportunities to dance professionally. Several of our dancers have gotten their introduction to professional dance through paid music video/commercial or live performance opportunities through our network of talented local artists and businesses. We are ranked #1 in the region and the only local company with regionally and nationally ranked dancers and scholarship winners.

Hip hop company dancers are required to take a minimum of 2 hip hop classes per week and attend rehearsals. Dancers wanting to compete in contemporary or jazz are required to take one jazz, one contemporary, one turns & leaps, and two ballet classes per week as well as attend required rehearsals. Dancers are encouraged to take more if and when able. Dancers will be required to have their ballet classes signed off on weekly. Dancers may either choose to take with Ninfa Gonzalez at CC Ballroom By The Bay or take ballet classes elsewhere upon Miss Jenny's approval. Because we know drill team dancers already have a heavy practice schedule, class requirements will differ. Drill team dancers wanting to compete with us will be required to take advanced jazz, advanced contemporary, and advanced hip hop.

Auditions for our company will be held on September 12, 2020

Contemporary/Jazz 12:30-1:30

Hip Hop 1:30-2:30

Dancers will learn combinations via-video. Video will be sent upon registration (There will be no fee for audition registration this year due to COVID hardship within the community). Dancers may also be asked to perform specific technical elements such as turns and leaps. Dancers have the option to either send in a video submission (due September 11) or attend the in person audition September 12th.

We will do our best to find a way to include all dancers who want to compete. Auditions give valuable experience to those wanting to advance as well as help our faculty and choreographers determine who may be best suited for particular styles/pieces.
